Beaumes de Venise, Land of Appellation
The Beaumes de Venise vineyard benefits from a delimitation creating a pyramidal hierarchy, representative of the notion Appellation of Origin. The communities concerned by the Beaumes de Venise appellation belong to the Rhodanian Domain, at the heart of and on the southern/southeast slope of the Dentelles de Montmirail Massif.
-The Beaumes de Venise appellation (600 hectares) covers the lovely hillsides of the communities of Beaumes de Venise, Lafare, La Roque d’Alric and Suzette. The authorized yield is 38 hectolitres per hectare.
-The Natural Sweet Beaumes de Venise Muscat wine appellation (500 hectares) spreads out on the hundred-old terraces, also called “Muscadières”, which were long before planted mainly with olive trees. Today, vines and olive trees harmoniously share the countryside.
The authorized yield is 30 hectolitres per hectare.
-The Cotes du Rhone Appellation (150 hectares) is situated on the low relief, between the area classified as cru and the area of production of red table wine. The authorized yield is 45 hectolitres per hectare.
