Balma Venita Wine Cellar
Created in 1956, under the initiative of Mr. Pierre Blachon, President of the Tourist Office as well as the village chemist, the wine co-operative Beaumes de Venise Bamla Venita regroups 203 wine producers at present. Balma Venita produces 5M bottles a year and is situated on 1,262 hectares of vines.
The Beaumes de Venise wine producers use healthy and ecological farming methods. Lovers of their vineyards, they perpetrate tradition with manual harvesting, special sorting of each bunch of grapes, thus benefitting from the quintessence of the land. Several standards and certifications prove that the wine producers in Beaumes de Venise thoroughly respect their environment, in particular, with the ISO 9002 certification ( first wine cellar to be certified in this process), the ISO 14001 certification and the charter VIVRE (Vintners Invested in Viticulture Respecting life and Environment).
The cellar produces 3 Rhone Valley crus and therefore exerts its knowhow in a wide range of quality wines such as: Cotes du Rhone, Cotes du Ventoux, and Vaucluse Country wine. These wines are produced on exceptional soils; safre from the Miocene era (called blond earth), the denominating soil of the Muscat grape: the famous Trias soil, the white earth of Bel Air (Cretateous period) and the grey soils of Farisien.
